AI photo studio, built in Germany

Professional headshots from the photos already on your phone

Upload a handful of ordinary selfies and get business portraits back that you can put on a CV, a LinkedIn profile or a company page. There is no photographer to book, no studio to travel to and no appointment to keep. Your first photo costs nothing, so you can see the result before you decide whether it is worth paying for.

How it works

You upload several photos of yourself. They do not need to be good photos, but they do need to show your face clearly and from slightly different angles, because the model learns what you look like from the variation between them. A single perfect picture is worse input than five ordinary ones.

From those images the system generates portraits in a chosen style, with the lighting and background of a studio session. You then pick the ones you want to keep. The whole process takes minutes rather than the week or two that booking a photographer usually costs.

What you get back is recognisably you. That sounds obvious, but it is the point at which cheap generators fail: a portrait that flatters you into someone else is useless in a job application, because you have to walk into the interview afterwards.

What it costs

Prices are in euros and you pay once. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

  • Free: your first photo, so you can judge the quality before spending anything.
  • 4.99 €: two professional photos on a neutral background. A small test rather than a package.
  • 29 €: twelve photos in classic and modern styles. This is the one most people choose for an application or a LinkedIn profile.
  • 79 €: more than forty photos across every style and background, with priority processing.

Why a German provider might matter to you

Most AI headshot services are American, and for most purposes that is fine. There are two situations where it is not. The first is data protection: your face is biometric information, and where it is processed decides which law protects it. Profilfoto KI is a German company and runs on European servers, so the GDPR applies. You can ask what is held about you and have it deleted.

The second is the German job market. A photo is still customary on a German CV, unlike in the United States or the United Kingdom where including one can count against you. The conventions are specific, down to the framing and the clothing, and they are not what an American tool optimises for.

If neither applies to you, judge us on the photos rather than the origin. We are a small company and the larger American services have more capacity and more styles than we do. What we can offer is a first photo at no cost, which makes the comparison cheap to run yourself.

Common questions

Where are my photos stored?

On servers inside the European Union. Because we are a German company, your images are processed under the GDPR, which gives you the right to ask what is stored and to have it removed.

How many selfies do I need?

A handful of ordinary phone photos. They should show your face clearly and from slightly different angles. You do not need a camera, a studio or good lighting, and photos taken on different days work better than several from the same minute.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay once for the package you choose and nothing recurs.

Can I use these photos on a CV?

Yes. In Germany a photo is still customary on a CV, although employers are not allowed to demand one. The important condition is that the portrait looks like you, so upload recent selfies rather than the most flattering ones you can find.
